About the artist:

Louise Cartier is an 19 year-old French singer-songwriter, who recently moved to Brighton, East Sussex. Classically trained in guitar from a young age, she later moved to a more modern style and learnt the piano, the ukulele, the bass guitar and the glockenspiel by herself. Louise only started writing her own material a year ago, when applying for a diploma in songwriting at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music where she currently studies.

When asked about her music style, she says "I do not like to be classified. My music lives and evolves with me and if I want to write a folk song one day, and a punk-rock one the next day, I will. At the moment I am really interested in soul music and 80s Rock. We will see if I can make something out of it."

Louise finds inspiration in her everyday life but also in literature and history, as she recently wrote a song entitled "The Infernal Machine", referencing to the mythological curse of the Labdacids. Her favourite artists and inspirations are Bon Iver, Radical Face, Melanie Martinez and Annie Lennox.

After releasing her first EP "First Headaches" in September 2015, she is now working on a whole new EP concept, which will be available in February 2017.
